Diamond Grinding / Polishing Machine - Table Top
Its belt and pulley system can be changed to run at low or high speed (any RPM's desired). Variable Speed machines run from 0 to 950 RPM. This heavy duty machine is made from steel. Capable of of withstanding more exploitation, requires less maintenance, and much easier to use that Fully Automatic Polishing, Lapping, & Grinding Equipment. Coolant can be re-circulated with addition of pump.

UKAM Industrial Superhard Tools produces diamond grinding, polishing discs and consumables for large variety of applications, industries, lapping, grinding & polishing machines. Metal & Resin Bond Diamond Discs are available from as coarse as 40 grit to fine as 1 micron. All Diamond Discs are interchangeable and come with magnetic backing. Other consumables such as diamond powder, cerium oxide, alumina powder, diamond compounds, diamond polishing coolant & diamond films are available upon request.
SMART CUT™ Diamond Discs are designed for fine and coarse grinding/polishing of high hardness materials such as metals, ceramics, refractories, cement, geological rocks, glass, optics, composites, and many other materials 35 and up Rockwell C scale of hardness
Only the highest quality diamonds and raw material is used in manufacturing process. The highest quality standards and consistency are maintained using sophisticated measurement and inspection equipment. Please inquire, we will be happy to recommend the right equipment, consumables, & process for your application.
Whatever your goal or objective UKAM Industrial Superhard Tools can help you optimize your Diamond Lapping, Grinding, & Polishing operation to ultimate level of efficiency.
MECHANICAL LAPPING, GRINDING, & POLISHING PROCESS
CAN BE USED FOR ALMOST ANY APPLICATION
As a essential part of finishing process, SMART CUT™ Lapping, Grinding, & Polishing machines / equipment play a major role in establishing the final dimensional and surface characteristics for many industrial parts. Lapping operation is used for many work materials including glass, ceramic, plastic, metals and their alloys, sintered materials, stellite, ferrite, copper, cast iron, steel etc.
Lapping, Grinding, & Polishing is primarily considered to be a three-body abrasive mechanism due to the fact that it uses free abrasive grains that can roll or slide between the work piece surface and the lapping plate, although some grains become embedded in the lap leading to two-body abrasion. Lapping is a loose abrasive machining process that combines abrasive particles within an oil or aqueous medium depending on the material being finished. Fine abrasive is applied, continuously or at specific intervals, to a work surface to form an abrasive film between the plate and the parts to be lapped or polished.
Each abrasive grain used for lapping has sharp irregular shapes and when a relative motion is induced and pressure applied, the sharp edges of the grains are forced into the work piece material. Each loose abrasive particle acts as a microscopic cutting tool that either makes an indentation or causes the material to cut away very small particles. Even though the abrasive grains are irregular in size and shape, they are used in large quantities and thus a cutting action takes place continuously over the entire surface in contact.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
LAPPING, GRINDING, & POLISHING?
Grinding, & Polishing processes are very similar. Main differences lie
on the end users objectives. Such as removing a certain amount of material
or removing scratches and micro cracks caused by prior machining
operations. Usually the same machine can be used for all three operations.
Some of the major differences include the type and diamond mesh size of
diamond discs used, type and size of abrasives used and their holding
factors include RPM’s (speed) used and pressure applied to material
important difference between lapping and more finer polishing is the
composition of diamond disc backing plate. Typically cast iron is used as
a backing plate for lapping. Backing plates made from aluminum, bronze, or
composites are more frequently used for polishing. Find
