Bond Characteristics

multiple layers of diamonds impregnated inside the metal matrix Provide longest life compared to all the other bond families. Sintered (metal bond) drills wear evenly, and are known for their long life & consistency. Used in vast majority of cutting applications.

have a single layer of diamonds, held by a tough durable nickel alloy. diamond particles to protrude from the bond matrix, providing a free, faster cutting action with minimum heat generation

Brazed Bond Diamond Drills are produced inside vacuum oven at a high temperature, single layer of diamond crystal bonded to steel body with very high diamond exposure

CVD diamond coating takes place in a vacuum chamber using a hot-filament, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. The crystalline diamond slowly grows on the surface of cutting tools (usually made from carbide) forming a continuous coating of up to 20 microns in thickness.

Advantages

  • More Universal, used on majority of applications
  • Longer Life than other bond types
  • Largest Range of Specifications available from stock
  • Preserve True material Micro Structure
  • Freer and faster cutting action
  • High Diamond Exposure
  • Thinnest possible kerfs available
  • More forgiving to operator errors
  • Lower Cost
  • May be used without coolant (on some
  • Does not Gum up on soft materials such as plastics & composites applications)*
  • Very fast & aggressive cutting speed
  • Maximum diamond crystal exposure
  • Ideal for hard to cut materials
  • Strong retention of diamond grit
  • Can be used at faster cutting speeds
  • Can be used dry and tough environments
  • Less Required Power
  • Capability to Retain Form
  • Minimizing & Often Eliminating Need for Dressing
  • Lower Cost
  • Significantly Longer Life then carbide tools
  • Save Time & Money on changing tools
  • Increased efficiency and productivity
  • Better Chip Clearance
  • Minimum Heat Generation
  • Excellent chip flow and evacuation
  • Reduce Chipping & Burring
  • Improve Surface Finish

SMART CUT® technology

CBN Crystal

How SMART CUT ® Bond Works?

Step 1

Sharpest And Finest Quality Diamonds

The newly exposed diamonds don’t effect diamonds already working on the material. Unlike many other diamond bonds, diamonds in a SMART CUT ®  Bond remains sharp and grow sharper with each cut, prolonging product life and consistent performance.

Step 2

Diamonds or CBN Crystals

Diamonds or CBN Crystals are activated only at the exposed layer. As Bond Matrix layer begin to wear out, diamonds in a new Bond Matrix layer are immediately activated, substituting the already used up diamond layer. The SMART CUT Diamond Hybrid Bond makes sure every diamond is in the right place and at the right time, working where you need it most.

Step 3

Advanced Formulated Open Diamond Bond Design

This advanced formulated open diamond bond design insures minimal chipping, fast cut, constant speed of cut, minimal cutting noise, and most important of all, consistent performance.

Find the Right Diamond Drills & Tools

for your Application

Diamond Drill and Tools by itself is perhaps the most important factor in your drill operation.

The diamonds impregnated inside the bond matrix of the diamond drill/tool, are what actually participate in cutting action. No matter what drilling equipment and process you are using. You will not be able to obtain the material surface finish, and precision tolerances you need, if the drill or tool you are using is not right for your application.

UKAM Industrial Superhard Tools experience, precision manufacturing, modern quality control methods, allow us to control and regulate dozens of variables that affect diamond drill and tool life, quality of cut, surface finish.

We will work with you to determine your needs, and recommend the Right Diamond Drill & Solution for your specific material / application.

UKAM INDUSTRIAL SUPERHARD TOOLS

High Quality Standards & Product Consistency

Not all Diamond Drills are created equal. UKAM Industrial Superhard Tools uses only the highest quality diamonds and raw materials in Diamond Drills manufacturing process. The highest quality standards and product consistency is maintained, using sophisticated inspection and measurement equipment. Our Diamond Drills are regularly used in demanding & mission critical applications.
